The beneficiary of donations from this edition of Foodies Week Puerto Vallarta is De Corazón a Corazón Comedor Comunitario. Meaning “From Heart to Heart”, this community dining room provides free meals five days a week in the Ixtapa neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta.

They are currently serving 50-70 people a day, primarily to children and the elderly. In addition, they also provide other types of assistance including delivering clothing, pantry items, baby formula, and diapers to those who are in need.

Complete, nutritious meals are served to growing children who need them to help develop their young minds. On special occasions, they are treated to sweets, parties, and activities where they can be free to have fun and be children.

The community kitchen is operated by a group of volunteers and relies on the community’s donation to keep going.
